My synthesis project
For my last project I chose to recreate the national anthem. I used synthesis in the project by taking the anthem and writing it how it would be if it was written today. I loved working on this project because I learned about The War of 1812 and how the anthem was made for my history project. For art I got to learn about Garage Band and voice synthesis which was very new to me, then for english I challenged myself by using quotes to re-write the lyrics for the song.
English
I used synthesis in my project to re-write the song lyrics for the national anthem. I decided to take quotes from important and noteworthy people, then incorporate the quotes into the song lyrics. Along with these quotes, I used some of my own words to put these lyrics together. Below are the lyrics that I used in my final draft and a list of people that I considered for using quotes. It was a challenge to find lyrics that fit the tempo and the rhyme pattern but I am so happy with how my final product turned out for this project.
Art Portion
I put together two different songs for my art project using voice synthesis and emotion to bring out the text. I used garage band to compose the songs and edited the voice parts as needed. Throughout the recording process, I had to add layers, harmonies and dissonance to enhance the emotion in the piece. Below are the different products I chose in my final project.
History
I used synthesis in history by researching the war of 1812 when the national anthem was written and then taking a look at the year 2020 and the hardships that our country went through. I researched the current events during the war of 1812 and used my knowledge to add emotion to the version of the anthem I wrote. For my final product I decided to record a voice-over for my song explaining the synthesis and connection.
